The students’ training final step at the I. T. I. Donegani

Despite the Covid-19 epidemic and its restrictions, the CiELO project activities are proceeding profitably.
The students of the I.T.I. Donegani concluded their training last week after two flipped classroom activities: PFI and TTI.

TTI: Ted Talk Interaction

Another activity the students performed was the Ted Talk Interaction. Each student was asked to give a two minutes Ted Talk about a topic he/she had previously chosen.

They performed it in front of an audience composed of all the other project participants. They decided by themselves the order in which they would speak and each Ted talk performance was logically and closely related to the next one.

Some students simply made a speech, others used slides and pictures in a true ted talk style.

Most of them were at school in both activities; only a few of them followed the activities from home because they had contracted covid and did an online performance. It was the only way all the students could take part in the activities.

The students were very happy and enjoyed this learning experience. The new teaching/learning methodologies were engaging and made a great difference. The boys and girls are looking forward to the new project challenges.

PFI: Parameterized Feedback Interaction

Two groups of ten students each confronted each other with questions about a general topic.

Each group had previously prepared nine secret questions related to three specific topics assigned by the teachers, and asked them to the members of the other group. They competed with each other in answering the questions made by the mates in the opposing group. Then the groups swapped roles. Finally, a discussion took place between the two groups.

This simple exercise was a way to have the students deepen the topics studied in the e-library of the platform and broaden their horizons about environmental issues.
